Simple check box with shortcut
Evernote v6 had a shortcut to add a simple check box (CTRL + SHIFT + C).
Evernote v10 replaced this shortcut to add "checklist". It is always possible to add a check bow but only from the "Insert menu".

Lucian AdminThis is a rather specific observation about the user interface, which I don't think would apply very well to other apps. Don't hesitate to submit another request for "one-click task addition on dekstop client" or "keyboard hotkey for task addition" (framing this for tasks might help, since it should apply to more apps).

nonobioIn fact, in Evernote v10, there is now "checklist" in addition to "checkbox", and the two features works differently :
Checkbox are just a case that can be checked or unchecked.
Checklist are different because they transform a block into "list" where checked line add strikethrough to the text.
It is a good thing to have checklist as a new feature in v10 but the old shortcut dedicated to checkbox doesn't work anymore : it create checklist :

So, there isn't anymore a direct shortcut to add a simple checkbox. -

Lucian AdminWhen considering the addition of new features, it is useful to consider how popular those features are among other apps. If what you are describing is a worthwhile distinction in other apps as well, make sure to tell us about them and we will reconsider this. Strictly for differences between old and new Evernote, however, it might make less sense for us to thoroughly consider them (having in mind that Evernote is likely to bring back missing features soon enough).
